Name: Georges Duboeuf Nouveau
Variety: Gamay
Region: Beaujolais
Country: France
Year: 2015
Price: $12

Winery Review: George Duboeuf is THE king of Beaujolais.  His wines are full of pop, charm and great flavor and his Beaujolais Nouveau is no exception.  A cornucopia of expressive fruit wrapped in an almost-bubblegum-like frame; it is the flagship Nouveau.

My Review: Dark red with a hint of purple in color. Distinct butter smell on the nose. On the palate it was quite dry with perhaps a little oak. Black currant and fig flavors with a few blackberries thrown in. I did not particularly enjoy this wine, but I thought it had nice structure.

I tasted this without food.
