Name: Yellow Tail Cabernet Merlot
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
Region: Casella
Country: Australia
Year: 2014
Price: $10

Winery Review: A classic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium-bodied and very approachable with soft tannins. Fruit-forward flavors of plum, cherry and blackberry are accented by notes of spice with more juicy berries on the finish.

My Review: Red with a hint of purple, the aroma of this wine was distinctly of butter. Unlike the review above, I did not taste too much fruit. The taste was more woody and earthy, with perhaps a little bit of smoke. No lingering aftertaste. I was not a huge fan of this wine, it was too bold for my taste. It would perhaps taste better paired with a hearty meal.

I tasted this without food.
