Name: Codirosso Chianti
Variety: Chianti
Region: Tuscany
Country: Italy
Year: 2014
Price: $13

Winery Review: Ruby red color with purple reflections.  Intense vinous bouquet with hints of violets and dark cherry fruit. The flavor is full of ripe fruit and a hint of spice. It is well balanced and dry. The finish is persistent and satisfying.

My Review: Red color with a hint of purple. Unlike the above review, the aroma was very peculiar to me. It smelled distinctly like a hospital or doctor's office, with perhaps a bouquet of flowers placed in the room. Fortunately the taste of this wine did not match its aroma. Dry, spicy, and very smooth. I also tasted a hint of dirt or earth flavor. An interesting drinking experience but one I would pass on repeating.

I tasted this without food.
